The much-awaited New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) 2026 has officially opened its doors, bringing together publishers, authors, educators, and book lovers from across India and around the world. Organised at Pragati Maidan, the annual literary event is once again serving as a vibrant platform to celebrate books, ideas, and intellectual exchange.

The 2026 edition of the World Book Fair features participation from hundreds of Indian and international publishers, showcasing a diverse range of titles spanning fiction, non-fiction, academic works, children’s literature, regional languages, and digital publications. Visitors are also being treated to special discounts, book launches, and exclusive editions during the fair.

One of the major highlights this year is the strong focus on Indian languages, education, and emerging writers, alongside discussions on digital publishing, artificial intelligence in education, and the future of reading in a rapidly evolving world. Several panel discussions, author interactions, workshops, and cultural programmes are scheduled throughout the fair.

Speaking at the inauguration, officials emphasised the role of books in strengthening knowledge, creativity, and critical thinking in society. “The New Delhi World Book Fair is not just a marketplace for books, but a celebration of ideas that shape minds and nations,” an official said.

The fair has also attracted significant interest from students, teachers, librarians, and young readers, with special pavilions dedicated to children’s literature, educational resources, and competitive exam preparation materials.

With literature enthusiasts thronging the venue since day one, the New Delhi World Book Fair 2026 is expected to witness strong footfall over the coming days. The event continues to reaffirm India’s position as one of the world’s largest and most diverse reading markets.

The World Book Fair will remain open to the public for the next several days, offering readers a unique opportunity to explore books, meet authors, and engage with the global literary community under one roof.
