Flights Cancelled at Delhi and Chennai Airports Due to Poor Visibility

Low visibility caused by dense fog and adverse weather conditions led to multiple flight cancellations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday morning, airport officials confirmed.

A total of 10 flights were cancelled in Delhi, disrupting travel plans for passengers. Poor weather conditions across Delhi and several northern states have been affecting air operations over the past few days, with some flights unable to land and others being diverted to alternate airports.

The impact was also felt at Chennai International Airport, where flight schedules were disrupted due to weather-related issues in northern India. Seven incoming flights from cities including Delhi, Jaipur, Patna, Pune, Kolkata, and Indore were cancelled. Additionally, four outbound flights from Chennai to northern destinations such as Delhi and Jaipur were also called off.

Airport authorities said persistent fog and reduced visibility were the primary reasons behind the cancellations, resulting in inconvenience for travelers.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality showed marginal improvement on Wednesday morning, though it continued to remain in the “very poor” category.
