Several Delhi Schools Receive Bomb Threat Emails, Security Put on High Alert
Security agencies in the national capital were placed on high alert on Thursday after multiple schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails, triggering panic among school administrations and parents.
According to officials, the threatening email was sent in the early hours of the morning, around 1:42 am, claiming that explosions would occur at three to four schools, including some institutions located outside Delhi as well. The message immediately raised concerns, prompting school authorities to inform the police and emergency agencies.
Following the alerts, Delhi Police, along with bomb detection and disposal squads and K9 units, launched extensive search operations across the affected school campuses. Entry points were secured, and systematic checks were carried out to ensure the safety of students, staff, and school property.
Police sources confirmed that schools such as DPS, Modern School, and Sanskriti School were among those that reported receiving the threatening emails. As a precautionary measure, access to several premises was restricted while security personnel conducted thorough inspections.
Authorities stated that no suspicious objects were found during the searches so far, and the situation remains under control. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the email and identify those responsible for sending the threat.
The incident comes a day after a similar bomb threat was reported at the Dwarka court complex, which was later found to be a hoax, raising concerns about a pattern of false alarms aimed at creating panic.
Delhi Police have urged citizens to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies while assuring that strict action will be taken against those spreading misinformation or issuing fake threats.
